Redesigning the Google Career Certificates website.
This project involved completely redesigning the Google Career Certificates website to highlight its focus on providing online training programs for in-demand, tech-driven careers. Whereas the previous site was focused primarily on driving potential learners to sign up at every scroll, the new design and corresponding copy emphasize accessibility, self-paced learning, and practical, job-ready skills created by industry experts.

Further, the new site aims to empower individuals to start or advance their careers without prior experience or degrees, with the copy underscoring ease of access, expert guidance, and the real-world relevance of the skills offered.

The tone of the copy on the Google Career Certificates website is encouraging, approachable, and empowering. It is designed to inspire confidence in potential learners by highlighting the ease of access to valuable skills and career opportunities.
The language employed is straightforward and supportive, aiming to make users feel capable of achieving their goals with the help of Google's resources.

I was also responsible for ensuring accessibility standards for all images and elements, including alt text and ARIA labels.

The header copy is friendly and inviting, highlighting that not everyone's career path is the same while emphasizing Grow with Google's commitment to offering flexible, tailored learning paths to meet diverse needs and goals.

These course overviews provide a snapshot of what to expect while expanding into detailed insights that cover things such as: career growth opportunities, time commitment and cost, salary statistics, program graduate testimonials, and more.

This outlines the high-level agenda for each hour, so learners know what to expect.
Real-world statistics and program graduate testimonials give visitors an actual dollar and cents idea of what they can expect after program completion.
The Grow with Google website also has a "Partners" page for nonprofits, employers, and academic institutions. This page explains how each can use Google Career Certificates to offer training, boost skills, and support career growth and provides specific resources and benefits for nonprofits, businesses, and schools. And, unlike ChatGPT, we are judicious in our use of the word “empower.”
